Arlene Edwards, PhD, MPH, is a community psychologist currently working as a behavioral scientist in the Capacity Building Branch of the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her work consists primarily of translating evidence based HIV/AIDS research into community based HIV prevention interventions. Cisgender and transgender women are the primary recipients of these interventions aimed at preventing HIV for these women and their sexual partners. Her research interests center on the effects of social disparities on consumer capacity to benefit from the implementation of prevention interventions, including HIV prevention.
