Voices Institute, LLC is a premier training, curricula development and research company focused on multicultural consciousness, well-being and health equity for various community sectors. Voices Institute, LLC is led by Chief Executive Officer Selena Webster-Bass, MPH, a Jacksonville, Florida native that has more than 20 years of experience in community engagement, cultural competency, health equity, mental health, sickle cell disease and program coordination and research. Selena has facilitated over 200 professional learning and community-based health education sessions with health and human services professionals, organizational leaders and the general community-at-large. She has worked in a variety of settings as Community Medicine Director with pediatrics and family medicine residency programs at UF/Shands Jacksonville, adjunct professor at University of North Florida – College of Public Health, Science Teacher in an urban setting, and developing national disease education campaigns for pharmaceutical companies focusing on multicultural populations. Selena also served over 5 years with the Jacksonville System of Care Grant as the Cultural Competency Educator. She is a core partner and consultant with the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Technical Assistance-Cultural and Linguistic Competency Team. Selena Webster-Bass has research interests in culturally responsive organizations, faith-based engagement, grief/loss, racial trauma and servant leadership. She is doctoral student at the Interdenominational Theological Center pursuing a Doctorate of Ministry with a concentration in Social Justice and Community Organizing. Certified in Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, she also facilitates youth development, emotional well-being and spiritual development sessions with various community organizations. Selena is happily married to Circuit Court Judge Lester Bass and has four compassionate children; Richard, Spencer, Micah and Trinity.
